England Cricket Coach Andy Flower has compared India's 4-0 white wash to England's 2009 Ashes series victory when England won the 5 matches test series by 2-1 from its arch-rival Australia.
Ashes series between England and Australia always contains special status, but winning against No.1 ranking team is also a special achievement, said Andy Flower.
England who recently white washed India at Oval had won against Australia two years ago in the same ground in the Ashes series.
The atmosphere was same, said Flower, who hailed his players for their hard work, commitment and brilliant performance that make possible to white wash the no.1 team.
On the other hand, former Indian captains Sunil Gavaskar and Ravi Shastri who witnessed the test series as being the part of commentary team have expressed their amazements at the manner in which India capitulated the test series.
Usually, India losses a close margins but the way in this series Indian cricket team surrendered itself is really very surprising, said the Indian commentators.
"It was very disappointing. Everybody though it would be a great series, but it was an abject surrender," Former Indian Test Captain Gavaskar said by adding that this was not the way a number one team plays.
"Maybe the approach was wrong and the attitude wasn't there." Ravi Shastri said in his statement.
"It was a combination of a lot of factors - injuries, lack of form. But this is a rude wake-up call," he added.
