London, Aug 17(ANI): Tottenham Hotspur striker Peter Crouch has paid a visit to a local barber whose shop was ransacked in the riots last week.
Looters had attacked Aaron Biber's hairdressing salon on Tottenham High Road in North London, smashed windows and stole hairdryers.
Remarkably, a signed picture of Crouch was one of the few things that survived unscathed.
So, Crouch popped down to Biber's establishment to receive a cut from the 89 year-old, who has been there for over 40 years, the Daily Mail reports.
"I wasn't expecting to get a hair cut, but I needed one and was in a barber shop, so I thought 'why not?'" Crouch told the official Tottenham Hotspur website.
"It was sad to see what had happened to his, and a lot of other people's businesses and lives, after the recent troubles. But it's great to see the response so many people have given."
"From spending time with Aaron there's no doubt he's a lifelong Spurs fan and his shop is walking distance from the stadium, so it's only right we show our support," he added. (ANI)
