New York, July 21 (ANI): A woman in the US has been featured on a new series of Nat Geo WILD for living alone on her 12 acres of land in California, with close to 800 cats and about 15 dogs.
The series, titled 'The Lady with 700 Cats', which is narrated by 'Glee's' Jane Lynch, focuses on Lynea Lattanzio's 'The Cat House', which is one of the only cat sanctuaries of its kind, located in Parlier, Calif., outside of Fresno.
Lattanzio, who takes in rescues from all over the world, says she often gets cats flown in from New York from owners who decide their apartments are too small to house their pets.
"If I were a cat, this is where I'd be. We're a no-cage, no-kill adoption sanctuary," the New York Post quoted her as saying.
She gets the word out about her sanctuary by her YouTube video and other social networks like Facebook and PetFinder.com, and she expects the series to increase traffic, as well.
Lattanzio's mother wouldn't allow her to have a pet cat growing up. She began rescuing cats after her divorce and has since saved close to 19,000 felines. (ANI)
