Srinagar, July 21 (ANI): Activists of Communist Party of India (Marxist) on Wednesday carried out a protest demonstration against price rise and corruption in Srinagar.
Speaking to mediapersons at Lal Chowk, CPM State Secretary Mohammad Yusuf Tarigami said corruption has reached its peak and the federal as well as the state governments are reeling under it.
"Corruption has taken the form of cancer. The whole structure of the government from New Delhi to Srinagar has come under the vicious circle of corruption," said Tarigami.
He also slammed the government for not being able to pass the Lokpal Bill to root out corruption.
"Since 1969 the Lokpal Bill is being presented in the Parliament but till today the bill could not be passed. And even till today there is no effective legislation in the country," added Tarigami. (ANI)
