Taylor.uring the same period, NOMA is also organizing another exhibition titled "Modernist Photographs of Tagore's Santiniketan and the Indian Subcontinent from 1929".

Applauding NOMA for exhibiting Hinduism focused art, esteemed Hindu statesman Rajan Zed, in a statement in Nevada (USA) on Sunday, said that art had a long and rich tradition in Hinduism and ancient Sanskrit literature talked about religious paintings of deities on wood or cloth.

Zed, who is president of Universal Society of Hinduism, urged other major art museums of the world, including Musee du Louvre and Musee d'Orsay of Paris, Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, Los Angeles Getty Center, Uffizi Gallery of Florence (Italy), Art Institute of Chicago, Tate Modern of London, Prado Museum of Madrid, National Gallery of Art in Washington DC, etc., to frequently organize Hindu art focused exhibitions, thus sharing the rich Hindu art heritage with the rest of the world.

Founded in 1910, NOMA houses over 30,000 art objects encompassing 4,000 years of world art. It has 46 galleries and its mission includes "to inspire the love of art". It houses a significant and growing collection of the tribal and village arts of India, particularly those from the Khond tribes and arts from the Karnataka region. Adjacent Besthoff Sculpture Garden occupying five acres houses over sixty sculptures from artists from all over the world and hosts yoga three times a month.

Hinduism is oldest and third largest religion of the world with about one billion adherents and moksh (liberation) is its ultimate goal. (ANI)
