BJP charges PM for keeping tainted Ministers in UPA Cabinet

New Delhi, Tue, 12 Jul 2011 ANI

New Delhi, July 12 (ANI): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday criticized the Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh, for keeping tainted and suspected ministers of various scams in his Cabinet.

"The Cabinet of Prime Minister (Manmohan Singh) is tainted. His cabinet could not get relief from the ministers who are tainted," said BJP spokesperson Syed Shahnawaz Hussain after today's Cabinet reshuffle.

Hussain further criticized the Prime Minister for not removing Kapil Sibal from his Cabinet.

"He (Prime Minister Manmohan Singh) has kept those who are suspects of any case in his cabinet. P Chidambaram, who is one of the equally responsible ministers being involved in 2G spectrum, the scam costing Rs. 1, 76,000 crores, he (Singh) has maintained him (Chidambaram) in his Cabinet," said Hussain.

"Kapil Sibal, who has supported a private company in earning profit, he is also there in the Cabinet. Likewise, in the Adarsh Society scam, the two ministers who were under scanner, he (Singh) has kept them also in the Cabinet," he added.

The Prime Minister earlier in the day dropped seven ministers and inducted eight new faces in his Cabinet. (ANI)
