Algiers, July 12(ANI): Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi's son Seif al-Islam has said the country's government was negotiating the solution to Libyan conflict with France.
He clarified that the talks were being held between Libya and France, and not with the rebel's National Transitional Council (NTC).
The remarks seemed to be at odds with the account of French Foreign Ministry, Xinhua reports.
French Spokesman Bernard Valero had earlier said France's messages were being passed to Gaddafi via the NTC and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization allies, and had denied that any direct communication existed between French and the Libyan government.
Slamming the French government, Seif said France is determined to block any direct contact between the Libyan government and the opposition unless it is informed, and threatened to withdraw support immediately if the opposition doesn't meet its demand.
He said the Libyan Government hoped to hold elections international observers' supervision to form a national unity government and draft a new constitution. (ANI)
