Lucknow, July 12 (ANI): Former chief medical officer Dr AK Shukla was arrested from Trauma Centre in Lucknow today in connection with embezzlement of National Rural Health Mission funds.
Shukla had also been under the scanner for his role in the murder of Lucknow CMO's BP Singh and Vinod Arya, along with deputy Chief Medical Officer Dr YS Sachan.
Shuklas arrest comes on the same day that one-man judicial panel submitted its report into the mysterious death of Sachan in jail on June 22.
On April 7 the Uttar Pradesh police registered a case against Shukla in connection to the National Rural Health Mission funds embezzlement. Two days later Sachan was also arrested in connection to the very same case. (ANI)
