Four policemen killed in Maoist attack in Chhattisgarh

Dantewada, June 27 (ANI): At least four policemen were killed and three others were injured in a landmine blast in Chhattisgarh's Dantewada District late last night.

 

According to sources, the Naxalites triggered a landmine on a vehicle-borne police party near Perpa under Kirandool police station area late last evening and resorted to indiscriminate firing soon after the blast.

 

One policeman was reported missing. All injured have been admitted to a local hospital.

 

Police have launched a search operation for the rebels.

 

Earlier, two Border Security Force (BSF) jawans were killed and three injured in a Naxal ambush in Kanker district

 

While four BSF personnel and a Special Police officer (SPO) were injured in the gunbattle, the police claimed that the body of a Naxalite was also recovered from the encounter spot.

 

A .303 rifle and 25 kg of improvised explosive device (IED) were recovered from the spot of encounter. (ANI)
