Thiruvananthapuram, June 21 (ANI): Expressing concern over the awful case of sexual exploitation of a minor girl by nearly 100 men, Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy on Tuesday said the police is actively probing the case, and promised stern punishment against the culprits.
"Police is actively probing the case. The government will not allow anyone to escape the law," he said.
Police teams were earlier sent to Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and various parts of Kerala to get hold of at least 70 persons responsible for the alleged sexual exploitation of a 14-year old girl in connivance with her father.
The girl is being treated for venereal diseases at a government hospital.
The girl, who hails from Paravoor in Ernakulam district, had revealed to a close relative about her plight following which a police complaint was filed some three months ago.
According to the police, 71 accused are absconding and five squads have been formed to trace them. (ANI)
