Brit Army likely to ground Prince Harry over Afghan posting leak

London , Sun, 19 Jun 2011 ANI

London, June 19(ANI): British Army may ground Prince Harry after details of his next posting to Afghanistan leaked out.

Harry was said to be heading for Camp Bastion in Helmand Province as part of a squadron of Apaches giving air support to troops on the ground.

"Don't ask us how this got out. In an ideal world Harry would have been deployed, done his tour and been safely home before we confirmed anything," The Daily Star quoted a senior Ministry of Defence source, as saying.

"It's not just his safety, but everyone around him who will be in danger. It's a terrible shame because he's an excellent pilot and has worked so hard to get where he is. Now all he can do is wait," the source added.

One solution being considered is for the prince to be given a series of false identities to keep the Taliban guessing

"The Taliban will be chucking everything into the air bar the kitchen sink every time anything flies," the source said.

"It's going to be a huge operation to keep him in the air," the source added.

The 26-year-old had spent 10 weeks in Afghanistan in 2008. (ANI)
