'Culprits behind MidDay crime reporter's death would be nabbed soon'

Mumbai, June 11(ANI): Maharashtra Minorities Minister Arif Naseem Khan has condoled the death of MidDay crime reporter Joytirmoy Dey, who was shot dead here today.

 

The incident took place in Powai area of the city when four bike-borne assailants fired from close range as Dey was returning home on a bike.

 

He was taken to the nearby Hiranandani Hospital, where he was declared dead.

 

"The way a senior journalist has been murdered. We are aggrieved. It is very unfortunate incident and we condemn it," Khan said.

 

Khan, who visited the hospital, further said that he discussed the incident with senior police officers of the city.

 

"We expect that culprits would be nabbed soon. I want the incident to be thoroughly probed at the ground level," Khan said.

 

"Who is behind the conspiracy? Who has done it? It should come out and stringent action should be taken against them," he added. (ANI)
