New York, May 24 (ANI): The mother of a woman who had claimed that Dominique Strauss-Kahn had tried to rape her in 2002, has said that she believes the former International Monetary Fund (IMF) chief never wanted to run for French President because of a lack of 'permanent self control.'
"To be the President of France is almost like being a religious figure-you have to have permanent self control. He loved luxury, food, wine and women. He does not like constraints. He did not want to be President," ABC News quoted Anne Mansouret, a Socialist official in the Normandy region of France who had worked with Strauss-Kahn for decades, as saying.
"He could never be rigid. He can't control anything-whether it's food, alcohol, etc. He is not made to be constantly restraining himself," she added.
Mansouret is the mother of 31-year-old writer Tristane Banon who had alleged on a French television show in 2002 that Strauss-Kahn had tried to sexually assault after she approached him for an interview for her book, which was about the biggest mistakes in the lives of political figures.
She said she ended up having a physical struggle with him on the floor, adding:
"It ended up violent... I kicked him several times, he unbuttoned my bra ... and tried to unzip my jeans."
Meanwhile, traces of Strauss-Kahn's sperm have reportedly been found on the dress of the New York hotel maid whom he had allegedly sexually assaulted earlier this month.
Police sources in Paris said that they had received DNA samples from the New York hotel where the alleged crime had taken place, and claimed that they belonged to Strauss-Kahn.
French news website Atlantico.fr published an exclusive report about the findings, stating: "These tests were performed on samples taken by police after the sexual assault victim says he (Strauss-Kahn) was with the maid at the Sofitel Hotel on Saturday, May 14." (ANI)
