Nawaz trying to become CIA, RAW agent to serve their objectives in Pak: PPP leader

Lahore , Sat, 21 May 2011 ANI

Lahore, May 21(ANI): Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif wants to become an agent of America's Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and India's Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), a Pakistan People's Party (PPP) parliamentary leader has said.

Zulfiqar Gondal, Member of the Provincial Assembly (MPA) of Punjab, alleged that Nawaz had left the service of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), and was now trying to become an agent of the CIA and the RAW by serving their objectives in Pakistan, The News reports.

He made these comments while addressing a press conference at the Lahore Press Club in connection with the new revelations made by whistle-blower website WikiLeaks.

According to a newly released cable, Gondal said, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and MNA Khawaja Saad Rafiq called on the US Consul in Lahore, Bryan D Hunt, in 2009 and reportedly said to him that deposed Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry should be restored to vindicate the stance of PML-N, but that he should be removed after some time.

Gondal further alleged that the Sharif brothers would now collect donations from the CIA and the RAW, on whose behest they were now attacking the ISI.

Regarding Nawaz's demand on presenting the defence budget in parliament, Gondal asked why Nawaz did not present it in parliament when he was the prime minister.

He also said that the PPP had offered Nawaz to wait for the retirement of CJ Dogar, which was due after two months, following which Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry would be restored. But the PML-N refused the offer, he added. (ANI)
