Gadchiroli, May 19 (ANI): Two Naxalites and a policeman were killed in a fierce encounter between police and group of Naxals in Navargunda forest in Bhamaragarh Tahsil of Maharashtra's Gadchiroli district today.
According to police sources, the incident took place while the police patrol party was carrying a search operation in the area in which a commando of the C-60 battalion, Chinna Menta, was killed.
Bodies of two Naxals were also found from the encounter site.
Around 250 Naxals were involved in the encounter.
The firing at the police party, comprising of C-60 and CRPF battalion, started at Nargond in Bhamragarh taluk at 7. 30 a.m.
The area, near Nagpur, is the hotbed of Maoist activity in Maharashtra. (ANI)
