Dantewada, May 18 (ANI): Seven Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel were killed on Tuesday night when a commander's escort vehicle was blown up in a landmine blast by Maoists in Chhattisgarh's Dantewada District.
Commander of CRPF's 2nd battalion Arvind Rai escaped unhurt in the attack, which occurred when he was travelling with the personnel from Kerlapal to Sukma in Dantewada district, 280 kms from Raipur.
The vehicle, which was following Rai's jeep, was blown up in the blast, killing five on the spot. Three were injured of whom two succumbed to their injuries.
In another incident, Naxalites torched about nine vehicles of a contractor engaged in road construction work in the Kanker district. (ANI)
