Pune, May 14 (ANI): Former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly's presence is always going to help Pune Warriors as he has nothing to prove to anyone, according to spinner Murali Kartik.
Kartik, Jesse Ryder and Nathan Mcullum were present to promote an apparel brand showroom in Pune.
"Sourav has got nothing to prove to anyone. It's just that he wants to play cricket and I said before he is a vastly experienced and superbly gifted cricketer. So, for him to be with us is only going to help this side," said Karthik.
While talking about his experience in Indian Premier League (IPL), Kartik said that as the team is new and it is their first season, players are still getting along with each other.
"It's a new set of players and we need to get to know all the players here. Some of the young Indian players you won't even have seen and I think many people have not seen because of the fact that IPL is one umbrella where you get to see so many new faces. So many new cricketers who have come up on the block were not talked about in previous season or even in domestic cricket.
"So IPL is one place where which throws up such cricketers. And again as I put it, it is the question of finding or knowing what players are capable of, so yes its early days again for everyone but the thing is that the signs are always good," said Kartik.
Pune Warriors is a franchise cricket team that plays in the IPL representing the city of Pune, Maharashtra.
Alongside of Kochi Tuskers Kerala, Pune Warriors was one of two new franchisees added to the fourth IPL season. (ANI)
