Karachi, May 7(ANI): Former Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar will be awarded a gold medal for his meritorious services to Pakistan cricket at the prize distribution ceremony of the Pakistan Champions Club League today.
MQM leader Syed Asif Hasnain, who has been instrumental in organizing the event, will confer the gold medal on Shoaib Akhtar at RLCA Ground in Korangi -5.
Pakistan Sports Minister Engr. Shaukatullah and Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) deputy convener Dr. Farooq Sattar will be the chief guest at the ceremony.
Shoaib Akhtar has an impressive record of 278 wickets in 46 Test matches and 247 wickets in 163 one-day internationals for Pakistan.
He had announced his retirement from all forms of cricket after the World Cup 2011. (ANI)
