Amritsar, May 4 (ANI): A high-level Indonesian delegation visited Amritsar's Golden Temple on Wednesday.
Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia Lt. General (Retd) Andi M. Ghalib led the delegation, which included many members of Parliament from his country.
During the visit of Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, both nations had signed a memorandum of Understanding (MoU) concerning 'Cultural Exchange Programme' for the years 2011 - 2014.
Fascinated with the Golden Temple's beauty, the delegates opined that they are here to discuss proactively ways and means to promote tourism between Punjab and Indonesia.
Meanwhile, Ambassador Ghalib told reporters that they are considering the Golden Temple as a place, where the Indonesians would get an opportunity to enhance the cultural partnership between the two nations.
Indonesia comprises of over 17,000 islands naturally endowed with abundant beauty. With the diversity of over 300 ethnic groups, there is manifold scope of expansion of mutual tourism. By Ravinder Singh Robin (ANI)
