Lucknow, Oct 3 (IANS) A peddler was arrested Friday with one kg of a drug that carried the street name of brown sugar, worth Rs.5 million, in Uttar Pradesh's Maharajganj district, the police said.
A police official said that Amjad Hussain smuggled drugs from Nepal, and was a resident of Gorakhpur district, over 280 km from here.
'We arrested him from the Sonara canal locality, close to the India-Nepal border, while he was trying to board a bus,' inspector Madhusudan Singh of Kotwali police station told IANS by phone.
'We have also gathered vital clues about the suppliers and hope to make more arrests soon,' he added.
