Poonch, Apr 14 (ANI): The General Officer Commanding (GOC), Romeo Force, Rashtriya Rifles, K. A. S. Bhullar said here that militant training camps still exist in Pakistan which supports infiltration into Jammu and Kashmir.
Speaking on the sidelines of a function here, General Bhullar said that the army has strepped up vigil in the region.
"When training camps are there and operating, so people will also try and come inside. Our concentration and our strategy is that we will not let anybody cross the border and for that we have one formation (a force) whose work is only to look after the border or Line of Control and not allow any unauthorized person," he added.
Earlier, banned militant outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad threatened the locals from participating in the village council elections in the State.
Bhullar said that the Army had provided security so that election process could be undertaken peacefully and safely.
"From our side, we will try our level best that this democratic and legal process should pass on peacefully. Indian army is apolitical; it does not support any party. We are not concerned about any party, we just want that people of the region should get an opportunity and should be able to cast their vote peacefully and in a secured environment," he said. (ANI)
