Nagpur, Mar.6 (ANI): The ongoing ICC World Cup 2011 has caught the imagination of the cricket crazy fans across India. Sudhakar Pathak, an ardent cricket fan, and also an amateur miniature artist has projected his thoughts in an artistic way by making a replica of the Word Cup trophy and cricket players from soap cakes.
Pathak said: "There are good chances of the Indian team winning the World Cup this year. So especially for them I have designed this World Cup and this entire team. To design this team it took me a month's time and I am skilled in designing miniatures since 1963."
" I have designed 7140 miniatures till date. And all this is simply for the entertainment of the people. I have never made money out of it and neither sold the miniatures. I just wish that my hobby entertains people," he added.
The artist from Nagpur also mentioned that each cricket player in his miniature collection was carved out of a single soap cake.
"One player is carved out of one soap. 11 players, two batsmen and two umpire and in total 15 people are standing on the field," said Pathak, pointing to the replica of a cricket field.
Cricket is like a religion in India and cricket stars are revered like gods. With the country co-hosting the World Cup along with Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, the excitement is palpable. (ANI)
