Indian Army shortlists 373 aspirants for final tests during Kashmir recruitment drive

Manasbal (Jammu and Kashmir), Feb 24 (ANI): The Indian army has shortlisted 373 candidates for further selection during a recruitment drive here.

 

The week-long recruitment camp began on February 19 and will end on February 25.

 

Youngsters Srinagar, Ganderbal, Anantnag, Baramulla and Bandipora districts took part in the drive.

 

Colonel Sanjiv Sirohi, Deputy Director General (Recruitment), Indian Army said physical tests were conducted on February 22 and 23, and the medical tests of the selected candidates would now take place.

 

He said there was a heart warming response from the people, which indicates that the common man wants to join the mainstream and is looking for a good employment in the Indian Army.

 

Over 20000 had appeared for the recruitment drive, ignoring threats given by militant outfits such as the Hizbul Mujahideen and the Lashkar-e-Taiba.

 

The selected aspirants will join as general duty clerks, soldier clerks, store keepers, mechanical and electronic technicians in the Signals and Engineers Corps and as nursing assistants in the Medical Corps, among others. (ANI)
