Bhopal, Sep 30 (IANS) At least eight persons were killed in a road accident in the Shivpuri district of Madhya Pradesh when a jeep carrying them collided with a truck, police said Tuesday.
The accident occurred Monday night when the jeep going from Jhansi in Uttar Pradesh to Karera in Shivpuri district dashed against a truck near Karera village, 225 kms from here.
All the victims died on the spot. The truck driver and the cleaner fled the scene leaving the truck behind. The police are on the lookout for the driver.
