India reported 1,03,844 new cases of Coronavirus infection in past 24 hours, with this India becomes second country after US to report more than 1 lakh cases in a day. This is a very grim situation in the country as number of infection is increasing fast and country is recording massive spike in the new Coronavirus cases. On Saturday India reported over 93,249 cases in a single day.
With the huge increase in the new cases India breaches 99,181 new cases mark which was reported in first wave. Now, its confirmed that the second wave of infections already started in the county with more force. People will have to observe proper Covid-19 guideline to stop the spread of this virus.
Last year on September 17 over 98,795 cases were reported and now the count is 5,000 higher than the previous peak. The situation is India is getting worse despite large number of vaccinations.
Maharashtra is the most affected state in the country where 57,074 fresh cases have been reported in the past 24 hours. Maharashtra crossed 50,000 per day cases mark on Sunday, which is the first time high in the state. In Maharashtra the total cases count crossed 30 lakh mark, which nearly three time higher than worst-hit Kerala. In Kerala total number of cases rose to over 10 Lakh mark.
The total active cases rose to over 7 lakh in just 3 days from 6 lakh mark, which a huge warning sign for India. Center has already instructed states to implement Covid-19 guideline strictly.
The deaths are increasing fast in recent week, the fatalities are also very high as compared to the first Covid-19 wave. On Sunday itself India recorded 477 deaths from the deadly Coronavirus.
Gujarat reported 2,875 new cases, Uttar Pradesh reported 4,164 cases, while Delhi reported 4,033 new cases in past 24 hours. The high number of cases from these states is warning sign and authorities in the country are taking all possible steps to contain the spread of deadly Coronavirus.
Maharashtra is going to impose curfew and weekend lockdown from Monday. State will inforce night curfew along with full lockdown during weekends.
India already launched third phase of vaccination drive which will include people older than 45 years age. If you are older than 45 years then you are eligible and must get the vaccine.
India’s vaccination drive is the world’s biggest program in which over 68 million doses are already given the eligible people.
