India reported 2,00,739 new cases of Covid-19 infection in past 24 hours which is clear signal of Coronavirus explosion in the country. Over 1 Lakh cases were reported in India on April 5 and in just in 1 days the per day Coronavirus cases rose to 2 Lakh mark. The 2 Lakh Coronavirus cases per day is the biggest ever one day spike in the country.
Thursday increase in the Coronavirus cases is the seventh consecutive day in the increase in the coronavirus cases in the country. Most affected places are Maharashtra, Mumbai, Pune, Lucknow and Delhi.
Due to surge in the new Covid-19 cases health infrastructure are facing stress and many hospitals are reporting shortages of ICU beds and the medical oxygen supply.
The new cases data has been reported by health ministry shows that 2,00,739 new cases came in past 24 hours across the country. Many hospital treating Covid-19 patients reported severe shortage of medical oxygen and beds. This is putting a huge pressure on the medical infrastructures treating Coronavirus patients.
In the past 24 hours 1,038 patients lost their lives due to Covid-19 infection. With 1,038 deaths total death count due to Covid-19 rose of 1,73,123 in the country.
Delhi reported highest of new cases so far, in 24 hours 17,282 new cases of Coronavirus infection have been reported in Delhi. Delhi is another worst hit city in the country with huge surge in the cases. According to the health department data, Delhi reported over 104 deaths in past 24 hours. With 104 deaths in past 24 hours, Delhi death count due to Covid-19 rose to 11,540. According to the data 1.08 lakhs tests were conducted previous and the positivity rate increased to 15.92 percent, which is a huge number.
The Uttar Pradesh government already extended the timings of the ‘corona curfew’ between 8pm to 7am in the districts with more than 2,000 active cases and these includes Lucknow, Prayagraj, Varanasi, Kanpur Nagar, Gautam Budh Nagar, Ghaziabad, Meerut and Gorakhpur.
In Delhi weekend full lockdown is announced by the Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal due to surge in the Covid-19 cases in the city. In Delhi only essential services are allowed and offices, shops etc. will remain closed.

Maharashtra is worst affected state and now state is enforcing tough restrictions for the next 15 days to stop the spread of virus.
