After seeing the news report of 41 stranded sailors in sinking ships in United Arab Emirates, the Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj said that India will help out sailors who were stuck in merchant ships at Ajman in United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Media reports which showed the situations of 41 stranded sailors in sinking merchant ships, Sushma reacted an in a tweet she said, “I have seen the news report. We will resolve this.”
On January 5, one of the sailors among those 41 sailors Anoop Pathak sent an SOS message from his Twitter handle, which read as, “@SushmaSwaraj our ship has holes and to much water coming in!... Please help us we want to go back home!”
As per the media reports, 41 Indian sailors are stranded in four abandoned merchant ships at Ajman anchorage in UAE.
The owner of the vessels had seized the passports of the sailors and is reportedly untraceable. According to the reports, the sailors have not been paid for more than a year.
Earlier, the Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj helped those who need help in other countries. Swaraj once promised help in bringing body of Indian from Tokyo and provided help; this shows that the Foreign Minister will surely help those stranded sailors.
