Manali gets more attractive, wrapped in snow

The Manali city is surrounded by the mountains and is always an adventurous place for backpackers. The beauty of this city enhances in the winter season when snow started to fall over the high peaks and the city. The hills near Manali in Himachal Pradesh received snow on this morning and hence saw a low temperature.

According to the weather official, the mountains near Manali in Himachal Pradesh and the city recorded the very low temperature of 0.6 degree and also got mild rains.

According to the Met department, the temperatures remained below freezing point in many places in the state after overnight snow and rain. The picturesque resort Kothi, some 15 km uphill from Manali, recorded 7.5 cm of snow.

The headquarters of Lahaul and Spiti district,Keylong, was recorded as the coldest in the state with minus 5.9 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature recorded in Shimla was 4.9 degrees Celsius.

The other places near Manali such as Kalpa, around 250 km from here, saw a low of minus 2.6 degrees Celsius,

the Rohtang Pass, located at 13,051 feet above sea level and 52 km from Manali, saw moderate snow since Thursday.

An official said that the rain and snow fall were likely to continue till Saturday and added that, "the higher reaches have been experiencing moderate to heavy snowfall since Thursday."

The heavy snowfall and the weather of this city attract lots of visitors and make their trip an adventurous and unforgettable trip. The visitors can take benefits of this season in doing trekking; climbing, mountain biking, canyoning, paragliding, rafting, and skiing and can get amazing view of the city.
