World's fourth largest smartphone maker Xiaomi has introduced white variant of Mi Mix model. Earlier in October last year, Mi Mix was launched as saleable concept smartphone with extraordinary features. Like its initial launch, the new variant's availability will only remain exclusive to China when it goes for sale.
There was no announcement regarding price of the phone which suggests that it would be made public at the time of local launch of the handset. The White handset of Mi Mix is similar to the Black one, which entered markets in November last year. The phone which was a result of coming together of Chinese Major Xiaomi and French Designer Philippe Stark the built of the phone is an absolute game changer. The curvy-edged phone has about 91.3 percent of screen-to-body ratio which means it is almost devoid of bezel (outside frame of the phone), both at the top and bottom. The glossy ceramic body casing and piezoelectric acoustic ceramic actuator (earpiece speaker) for delivering voice calls to ears are major highlights of the phone.
Another USP of the Mi Mix is that it uses an ultrasound sensor ditching the conventional proximity sensor, which works from behind the display, just like the cantilever actuator. The phone with 6.4-inch display (1080x2040 resolution), having 362 ppi pixel density and NTSC colour gamut of 94%, is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 SoC of 2.35 GHz. It is embedded with Dual-tone LED Flash enabled 16 –MP rear shooter with f/2.0 aperture and PDAF along with a 5 –MP front shooter. Backed by a 4400 mAh battery the handset weighs 209 grams.
Two options are provided to the consumers in terms of storage – one with 4 GB RAM/128 GB on-board storage (CNY 3499), another with 6GB RAM/ 256 GB on-board storage and 18-Carat Gold embossing (CNY 3999). Other important features include Quick Charge 3.0 support, GPS/ A-GPS, Bluetooth v4.2, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, NFC with Mi Pay support, fingerprint sensor, etc.
