Sony had launched its Xperia XZ flagship at IFA 2016 in Berlin, and the device boasts of amazing features along with an equally impressive camera.
The smartphones has been in news owing to its fantastic looks, but it does have a lot more to offer other than just looks. Let us here have a look at the device to see what features it brings for you.
Design And Build
As we said, Xperia XZ is a great looking device and has been built to impress. It follows the angular designs as seen in all Xperia series. It has a 5.2 inch display covered by a metal body curvier than the earlier released models. Back of the device is made of a metal, alkaleido that gives it a shinier and polished look. It's available in three color models: Platinum, Mineral Black and Forest Blue. The device is water resistant and it's not what we generally know as waterproof. The device can manage to survive a little stint in rain or a few drops of water; but you can't submerge it in water like the other of Xperia devices.
Specifications
The device comes with 5.2 inch Full HD (1920x1080) triluminous display with vibrant contrast improvement. Its color schemes are vivid, and under the hood, the smartphone has Snapdragon 820 64-bit quad-core processor along with 3GB of RAM. The device has a base storage of 32GB, which can be further expanded up to 256GB through the use of MicroSD card slot.
Xperia XZ is mainly touted as the camera phone, and this is one feature which stands out completely. It sports a 23Mp primary camera which has the triple image sensing expertise, made of three sensors: one imaging sensor for movement, laser autofocus for gauging distance and RGBC-IR sensor which helps in reproducing color accurately. For selfies, Xperia XZ provides 13Mp backed by a superior wide-angle lens for more remarkable selfies.
But that doesn't mean its camera is fully flawless. Xperia XZ camera also has its set of limitations. The device's camera clicks pictures very quickly which are usually pretty crisp, and upon zooming it offers over the top noise reduction thus making the pictures blurry.
Coming to battery, Sony Xperia XZ has 2900mAh battery which comes backed by the Qnovo Adaptive Charging technology. As per Sony, this technology helps in extending the battery life. It is yet to be seen if Sony's claim stands true. Moreover, XZ battery comes with Quick Charging feature and is bigger in size as well.
Software
At the software front, Xperia XZ runs the Android 6.0 Marshmallow, and we really don't know if it will have the latest Android OS, the Android Nougot. Sony claims that the device has much other handy software that would actually help one be a smart user. But that would take time to get revealed.
Release and Price
At IFA 2016, which was held in Berlin, Sony announced that XZ smartphone will be available in the UK in October, but the precise date is yet to be known. As for the price, it is expected to be somewhere between £500 and £600.
Conclusion
Sony Xperia series have always believed in breaking the grounds and setting up new trends. Right from its color to design, Sony Xperia begs to differ from the rest. While brands like Apple and Samsung have gone for curvy designs, Sony Xperia series has for long features angular design only and even with color, it never sides the usual black, gold or grey.
The company is known to design class smartphones and they have done the same with Xperia XZ also, which also has an impressive technology and amazing camera features. It would be interesting to see how the device will fare once it's out in the market.
