LG's V20 is going to be the first device to come out with Android Nougat out of the box. LG is all set to launch its V20 in the US today.
And the device has already caught up the attention; in fact, some of its supposed features have been released far ahead of the launch. So, let us here get to know more details about the LG V20.
The Release
The LG V20 will first release in the US on 6 September followed by a release in Seoul on 7 September. It will be available for pre-order on 14 September and will go on sale on 23 September.
LG confirmed the news through a tease picture which stated that the device would be unveiled in the US on September 6 at a launch event expected to start at 6pm PT/9pm ET (2am in the UK) at the Pier 27 at San Francisco's Embarcadero. It will go on sale by September end and is the first device to run the latest Android Nougot.
It is interesting to note that the launch will happen prior to that of Google's Nexus Sailfish and Marlin, extensively tipped as Pixel X and Pixel XL launching on 4 October.
The Price
It's hard to guess V20's price given the fact that V10 was never released in the UK officially, as for US, the price is going to be $700 SIM-free. In UK, the price is guessed to be £500- to £550.
Specifications And Features
It is now a known fact that the LG V20 is indeed the first smartphone to get Android Nougot, which apparently adds to its appeal factor. LG also revealed that the V20 will even be the pioneer device to have Google In Apps feature, which happens to be a novel search form that allows you to locate content in preinstalled and the user-installed apps.
Moreover, V20 has also been reported to be the first smartphone in the world to have 32-bit Hi-Fi Quad DAC for high quality audio, and would also ship with B&O Play earphones.
As for other features, LG has not revealed much. It's only because of the speculations that we have some details about the V20. It is supposed to feature the same modular design like other LG flagships, G5. Further reports state that LG V20 will slightly copy the LG G5 design but won't be exactly the same, and may not be a modular device. It will feature a 4,000mAh removable battery.
V10 is also said to have 5.7in Quad-HD screen, and is supposed to downgrade from 5.7 to 5.5 so as to house secondary screen. Talking of the processor and storage, V20 is supposed to come with Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, complemented with 4GB of RAM and 32/ 64GB internal storage which is expandable as per reports using microSD.
Coming to the camera, the device is said to be sporting 21Mp primary camera with dual-8Mp snappers at front. Now, here LG has brought in a change as most of the devices nowadays have dual cameras at the back while V20 features the same at front.
V20 allegedly measures 7.7mm thick, but over the camera it's 8.8mm. Sources also say that V20 will be pretty narrower as compared to the past devices; but it would be 159.5x78.1mm. Like the other LG devices, the V20 has power button and the latest sensation, fingerprint sensor on its back. The volume button in V20 is located at the edge.
All eyes are set on the V20 as it promises to bring in some new features onboard. Let us now wait to see what the real picture stands to be!
