In the past, we had heard about the HTC One A9 was soon to have an upgraded version named as the HTC One A9s. It is notable that the HTC One A9 happened to be atypical 'premium' mid-range device and was launched in 2015.
The device sported an elegant look with a beautifully built body and had midrange hardware incorporated. It was the price which made people turn down this device as it was considered to be rather high in comparison to the features as offered by the HTC One A9.
Upgrade to HTC One A9s
When HTC had announced that its premium device HTC One A9 will be upgraded as HTC One A9s, one had expected the new version to come with many notable upgrades. On the contrary, we have been introduced to a model that lacks the needed upgrades and rather sports some not so superior features. This hints that the new model will be sold at a lesser price and given its premium feel, it will surely big win.
Features And Specifications
As reported, upgraded version HTC One A9s sports an amazingly striking metal body and has diamond-cut buttons with curved Gorilla Glass screen. It has retained the 5" display but matrix is now upgraded to a Super LCD with a lower 720p resolution.
The device has undergone changes in terms of the chipset too. One A9s has Helio P10 by MediaTek that offers octa-core A53 processor, Mali-T860MP2, coupled with 2GB or 3GB of RAM based on the storage alternative ranging between 16 and 32 GB.
Furthermore, the camera is also the same as its predecessor. One A9s has 13MP main camera; however, it has got upgraded sensor with quite narrower f/2.2 aperture. It doesn't have optical image stabilization. In the previous device, the front camera was of 4MP whereas in the One A9s, the selfie camera is 5MP 4:3 sensor which has f/2.8 aperture and 1080p video recording.
Talking of value added features, the device has fingerprint scanner, better connectivity options, and bigger 2,300 mAh battery. It runs on Android Marshmallow and has the most recent HTC Sense launcher. It is known to all that Android has released its new OS, the Nougot, which is now being made available to most of the elite smartphones. However, it is yet not clear if HTC One A9s will feature this operating system.
Its launch is to happen in the month of October, but the price is still a mystery. We are yet to receive an update from HTC over the price of this new upgraded version. Let us hope that HTC will make up for the previous device with this new one, and come with a decent price.
