Last month, we saw Coolpad bringing in its high-end device the Mega 2.5D, which majorly focused on selfie camera. It was anticipated to bring in a major change in the selfie rage and make it smoother and highly capable.
Though the smartphone has many pros but it has some sets of flaws too. Let us check out its specifications and see whether the device is worth making an investment.
Look & Feel
Ever since Coolpad Note 3, the Coolpad has brought in major changes in its devices in terms of design and built. Mega 2.5D sports a fashionable and finest look, which is sure to leave a great impression on the users.
The device looks sleek, light weight and very comfortable to hold. And it is to note that the device has a massive display of 5.5 inch. At the back, it has a matte finish with arc-shaped design which will offer enhanced grip.
Its sides are flat and have two gleaming lines that run around it thus adding to its look and feel. There is 3.5mm headphone jack on the top with microUSB slot. Its display is intense and vivacious.
Camera
As we reported earlier, Coolpad Mega 2.5D claims itself to be a selfie-centric device. For the price it is available at, the features stand appealing. Close focusing a problem with both front and back cameras. The device however has some amazing tools for photo editing. Its UI is trouble-free and similar to that of many other Coolpad smartphones. It is spontaneous, snappy and its manual focus works in good health than AF.
Performance
The device has for sure some pleasing statistics. The device doesn't cause any lag and operates quite smoothly. Its UI has brought in some changes to meet the new standards. You can have quick and easy access to features such as Flight Mode, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and others. It has wonderful theme store which allows you to alter the phone's look completely. Its setting options let you access many options like the implicit key setting, smart control, control centre, and display tuning.
Battery
Compared to other devices which fall in the same price range as Coolpad Mega 2.5D, the device sports a 2,500mAh battery, which appears to be pretty small. But despite the smaller battery, the device lasts really long.
Under mixed usage, the device easily lasts for an entire day. And under extensive use inclusive of watching endless videos, gaming and movies, it stays on for 7-8 hours. However, the smartphone takes around 2 hours time to get completely charged, whereas many other rival devices are offering the quick charging facility to combat this issue. But the same is missing in this newly launched device from Coolpad.
Connectivity
Coolpad Mega 2.5D happens to be one of the most reasonable priced devices that supports 4G LTE and VoLTE. It features dual SIM slots but only one supports 4G, whereas the other slot is restricted to 3G bands.
Conclusion
The device has come with good features to boast of like the longer battery life, decent performance, design, and display. It is indeed a full package for those in search of budget smartphones. The design is certainly incredible, but the camera feature is not exactly what has been boasted of.
It's available for a price range of Rs. 6,999 and at this price we can say that it has some catchy features which can't be missed. This price makes us overlook the drawbacks it brings along, as for this affordable price, Coolpad Mega 2.5D is a worth buy. But it will surely have to look for the competition in the market, as there are other devices offering same features in the similar price range.
