Sony has been riding high with its Xperia series, and recently the smartphone maker launched new flagships under its Xperia series. One of them is the youngest version of the lot, the Xperia X Compact.
It is still time to know how exactly the features stand in the Compact, but from the first look of it, the device sure stands impressive. So, let us have a look at some of the features of Compact to see what the final outcome would be.
X Compact Design
Xperia X Compact sports a 4.6in screen which is simply amazing to hold, it gives you a firm grip and you will not really dwell in the fear of losing the device from hand. As it is with most of the Sony handsets, X Compact too has the signature recognizable design of Sony smartphones. However, X Compact makers a slight difference by ditching the omnibalance design style. The device sports a curved glass pane, is surrounded by square outer edge. This apparently gives X Compact a stylish finish but the device lack the metal body which is however seen in XZ. X Compact has a plastic back. Overall, the look is quite pleasing.
X Compact Display
For those who disgust the 5+inch display which is now a common phenomenon amidst all smartphones, X Compact is a good change. As we said, it has 4.6in screen which you can easily access through single thumb thus making it very easy to use. It has a 720p resolution but the viewing angles and brightness is very impressive.
X Compact Camera
Coming to one of the prime features of smartphones these days, X Compact boasts of 23MP camera with laser-autofocus. It acts quickly and responds accurately. You have a designated camera button that helps open the camera app without any delays. It has a quick focus and the shots stand very clear. It is known that Sony has striking cameras and are capable of capturing some amazing shots. So, one can expect that X Compact camera will also be wonderful in use.
For selfies, it offers you a 5MP front camera. It is notable that XZ has 13MP selfie camera. And X Compact does a decent job with its selfie camera.
X Compact Processor & Storage
X Compact is devoid of Snapdragon 820 which is rather seen in XZ device. But this compact device from Sony comes with Snapdragon 650, which in general does a good job. As for RAM, it sports 3GB.
X Compact Verdict
This mini smartphone from Sony is indeed a great choice for the easy goers. Those who don't need the high maintenance smartphones can easily go for this one, its smaller size makes it a pocket friendly device that can be carried with ease. The features are also good and on paper appear to be doing a fabulous job considering the device's smaller built. Sony has done wonderful job by fitting in some of the needed features in this compact size.
In the market, X Compact will face tough competition from the iPhone SE. However, as Compact has an edge over SE owing to the camera quality; we can expect X Compact to be a winner in this case.
But again that's too early to predict and we will have to wait for the final review to state if X Compact will live up to its name and hype.
