Google has proclaimed the release of its latest OS, the Android 7.0 Nougat, OTA update to its Nexus devices. Though the firmware is yet to reach the devices but it won't take much long for the devices to get the latest OS.
The Nexus P, Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X, Nexus 9, Google Pixel C, Nexus Player and Android One will soon be receiving the new OS.
As per the reports Nexus P, Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X, Nexus 9, Google Pixel C, Nexus Player and Android One are likely to get Android 7.0 Nougat update in coming few weeks. The Nexus 5 and Nexus 7, reports state that they will not be getting Android 7.0 Nougat.
With the new OS, Google has brought in many changes. Google has made its Instant Apps feature to debut with Android 7.0. So far no one ever stressed over this feature much. But it has come has a great relief because the feature allows you to access apps instantly. The Instant Apps allows Android users to start using an app in the Google Play store right away. You don't need to buy it - nor do you need to download it. Just open the app's store page and you get to start testing it straight away to see if it's rather fascinating to download.
Next is the multi window support feature which was earlier available to devices like Samsung's Galaxy Note smartphones. Now, all devices can use this feature, thanks to Android N. with this new OS, Google gives you the ability to open two apps side by side on the screen. So you can now watch YouTube and check Facebook all at the same time.
Doze Mode is another interesting feature that has been introduced by Google in Android N. this feature had earlier debuted with Android 6.0 Marshmallow, but with Android N the feature has got all the more interesting and enhanced. The original feature allowed a smartphone or tablet in a latent state when not in use but with Android Nougat's new “Doze on the Go” feature you can enjoy Doze's battery-saving features while the phone is in motion, anytime the display is off.
In an attempt to amalgamate the mobile VR experience, Google created Daydream hardware and software platform for virtual reality. This means vendors like Samsung, LG and others don't have to build their individual VR platform or partner with dissimilar third parties. For developers, it means they can build one VR app or experience that can work across all Android devices.
This feature isn't the most amazing addition in Android 7.0 Nougat, but it really is nothing small of a game-changer. With Android Nougat, OS updates will take place in the background, just like Google's Chrome OS. The system will download OTA updates in the background and install them as a different system image on a device's storage.
Android N has added some significant new features to keep users safer and more secure. Stimulated by how Chromebooks apply updates, they'll be soon introducing seamless updates, so that novel Android devices built on N can install system updates in the background.
Let us now wait to see when will Google send in the update finally to its designated Nexus devices!
