New Delhi, Fri, 26 Aug 2016 NI Wire

Android 7.0 Nougat is finally out and is available in Google Nexus devices. It came alive after undergoing nearly 5 months of the developer preview testing.

Different to the preview version, the final product has more stability and is rich with quite a few features. Though most of the smartphones in the market won't get this update so easily, but it won't take much time either.

Want to know how will it be like when you'll have the latest Android N OS in your device? Let's check it out:

A better doze mode

Most of us might have experienced how an app upon installation would behave absurd in the background, which caused your battery to drain and that too when you phone does nothing expect sit idle. But this has changed completely with Android N, thanks to its Doze Mode.

In the case of Marshmallow, the Doze Mode would get activated when the phone sat idle for 30 minutes or so. This would lead all the apps to sleep and were not allowed by the system to wake up unless a usual update window was attained or the phone was made in use.

Things works similarly in Nougat, but with a lot of difference. The Doze Mode in Android N turns on in specific situations. It's not limited only to when a device is at a halt. And this can make a great impact o your phone's battery life.

You'll take time to adjust to the new notifications

Notifications happen to be one of the best changes that Android N has brought in with it. Its notifications are pretty powerful than the ones we had in Marshmallow. However, you'll take time to get used to this new system of notifications.

Potential multi-window

Android 7.0 supports multi-window apps in split-screen. Pressing the overview button for long shrinks your present app down to half of your phone screen, and brings up new list of open apps to choose from. However, to use this feature to its fullest potential, the app needs to have complete support.

Customizable quick settings

Quick settings UI have undergone a complete makeover in the all new Android Nougat. Earlier, these settings used to show up on the top of your extended notification pane. In Android N, you can customize them as per your choice. It provides an edit button that allows you to add, take out, and reorganize the items.

Lots of updates

Apart from the major changes Android N brings in, the operating system will for sure change your smartphone experience once it is rolled out completely.

It will bring in effortless updates; you'll also enjoy Vulkan graphics API as well as an enhanced and much better code compiler. It will allow you to build version of Neko Atsume, a strange kitty collector game. You can leave treats in your customizable quick settings to entice in exceptional virtual cats, which then can be shared as images. You can call it the Easter Egg in this version of Android. It's more humorous and less annoying than the Flappy Bird Easter Egg in Marshmallow.

All the Nexus devices starting from the Nexus 6 are on the verge of getting Nougat OTA right now. The process will soon be completed and then it would take on other smartphones like the Samsung, LG and Motorola amongst a few.

As we pointed out earlier, this new operating system will surely change your smartphone experience with its enticing features and tons of added updates. So, wait till your device gets this latest update and get started with a new experience all together!
