This was the phase when Salman's career had hit a roadblock. He was giving flops one after the other and was surrounded by many controversies. While he was almost written off, Prabhu Deva's Hindi directorial debut, Wanted (2009) came across as a fresh breeze. Salman's action avatar impressed one and all and he truly became Wanted.

Last but definitely not the least - Bajrangi Bhaijaan is one film we can never erase off our memories. Salman as the loving Bajrangi stole our hearts. Till now, we had seen him wooing the actresses onscreen and fighting the bay guys. But Bajrangi Bhaijaan showcased Salman in a completely different role where we saw him as a caring individual who took all pains just to ensure a mute girl reach her lost family in Pakistan.  His chemistry with the little kid, Harshali who played Munni charmed everyone.
