Google finally announced the new name for its upcoming Android OS and Android N finally name to Android Nougat. Most important feature of Android Nougat is the support for split-screen multi-window mode.
Let's see the features of this Operating System and find out which phones will support Android Nougat Operation System. Its ends the search for new name for Android N operating system, it's new name is 'Android Nougat'.
Again Google is coming up with highly advanced Android Operating System and this release of the Operating System 'Android Nougat' will be the most advanced Android Operating System. This Operating system is coming with host of features such as split-screen with multi-window support mode.
The Android Nougat Operating system will be most advanced Android operating system and provide many unique features including split-screen multi-window mode. This features 'split-screen multi-window mode' will allow two applications to haves of the screen of the mobile phone.
The multi-window feature will also be supported as a hidden feature and in this mode multiple applications can appear simultaneously on the screen. This feature is good for the users who uses multiple application at a same time on the mobile device.
Features of Android Nougat
Notification feature is also redesigned in this version of Android operating system. It allows the developers to bundle multiple notification in the same application.
Although this operating system comes with many new features it is unlikely to get the Android Nougat update for low cost mobile. Only top model of the mobile manufactures will get the Android Nougat updates.
Features of Android Nougat:
1. Multi-Window Support
Android Nougat Operating System supports multi-window for the application running on the mobile phone. It will allow two application to run on the same screen occupying half of the screen each.
This feature will be available to all the devices running this operating system, till now this feature was exclusive to the Samsung Mobiles.
2. Notification Panel
The Notification Panel in this Operating System has been redesigned with the icons above the Notification Shade are more prominent. This panel has drop-down toggle in the right side which can be used to open/expand the panel.
3. Night Mode
This mode is now available in Android Nougat and users can switch to the dark color mode in night as white color mode is not convenient in night. This seems another welcoming feature of the operating system.
4. New Quick Settings
The quick settings menu are re-designed and much easier to access on this version of Android. Now it includes Wi-Fi, mobile data, Do Not Disturb and flashlight.
5. Recent App UI
This UI will show you all the applications running in the mobile device in a big UI.
6. Doze when screen off
This enables the battery saving on the mobile device and probably this feature will come with Android Nougat.
7. Project Svelte
The Android Nougat will continue to use this project as it enables the Android to run on much broader hardware devices. It also efficiently manages the use of RAM in the hardware of the mobile device.
8. Call Screening
This feature scans the incoming calls to the mobile phone, if there is new call it will show following three options:
a) Reject call
b) Do not show call in the call log
c) Do not show call (ignore calls)
This feature is not new buts its welcoming feature of this Operating System.
9. System level number blocking
This feature is now available to the Android Nougat operating system which allows the users to block a number, once the number is blocked you phone won't receive call or text from blocked number.
10. Always-ON VPN
This feature uses the free Opera Max VPN to save the data usage, it uses this VPN to send and receive the compress data and saves lot of traffic. If you are using What's app and other social network application you will see great saving in your monthly data transfer. This is also a system level feature which user can enable to disable.
11. Data Saver
This feature allows the user to enable or disable this feature, If Data Saver feature is enabled than phone will intelligently use less data in operation. This feature is very good if you are using your mobile phone on the monthly data plan.
12. Emergency Information
This OS allows to save the emergency information in a 'Emergency Information' group, this is also a good feature which can be used in case of misshaping. In this section Emergency Contact and Medical Information's are saved making it easier to find by some one in case of emergency.
13. New File Manager Features
The Android Nougat operating system uses the file system which was introduced in the Android M, but with modification file multiple windows to view the files in different directories. It also allows to rename the file or folder. The most import feature added is to move the files from one folder to another folder (in another window).
14. Change screen zoom levels (DPI)
This feature is introduced as the system-level feature in Android Nougat and it allows the users to set font-type as well a size in the mobile phone on system level. So, now depending on the size of the screen in the mobile phone user's can select the convenient font-type and size.
15. Revamped Settings Menu
The Settings menu is re-designed and developed to help the user to quickly access the most used features on the top. Now there is no need to open the sub-menu as all the entries are listed on the sub-menu making this design very useful for the users.
