Akshay and Neeraj Team Up Again For Rustom directed by Tinu Suresh Desai making the film his second outing in Bollywood as a director!
Akshay Kumar is one actor in Bollywood who never fails to surprise us with his choice of films. He perhaps is the only actor in town who brings along a mix of genres. A couple of months back, he entrained masses with Housefull 3. And now he will be back as Rustom.
Rustom is written by Vipul K Rawal and is directed by Tinu Suresh Desai making the film his second outing in Bollywood as a director.
The film stars Akshay Kumar and Ileana D'Cruz in lead roles alongside Esha Gupta. The movie is said to be based on a real life incident of Naval Officer K.M. Nanavati and is famous as the K. M. Nanavati v. State of Maharashtra case.
Rustom's cinematography is done by Santosh Thundiyil and its principal photography started in February 2016.

Plot
It's a suspense thriller drama which focuses on central characters Akshay Kumar, Illeana D'Cruz, Esha Gupta along with Sharad Kelkar and Arjan Bajwa.
Set in 1959, Rustom portrays the true incident of Nanavati case. Film's story revolves around a Parsi man Rustom Pavri, played by Akshay who happens to be commander in the Indian navy and lives in Mumbai with his NRI wife and two daughters. Rustom's job demands him to stay away from home for maximum period of time.
This leads his lonely wife to have an affair outside marriage with Rustom's close friend. This is caught red handed by Rustom who in a fury happens to kill his friend. The film trails the incidents that led to the murder of Rustom's friend and his trial in the court.
Production
The film is jointly produced by Neeraj Pandey, Aruna Bhatia, Nittin Keni, Akash Chawla, Virender Arora, Ishwar Kapoor and Shiital Bhatia. The film's screenplay and story is done by Vipul K Rawal.
Rustom's music is composed by Ankit Tiwari, Jeet Ganguly, Raghav Sachar and Arko Pravo Mukherjee
Trailer & Release
So far the makers have only unveiled the first look poster where Akshay Kumar is flaunting his swag dressed in the Navy uniform. From the first look, the film does appear to be one intense drama.
How close it stands to the real life incident can only be seen once the trailer is out. As for the release, the film is set to hit the screens on 12 August 2016.
