Will Housefull 3 Be Able To Cross The 100 Crore Benchmark?
The third installment to Housefull series, the Housefull 3 has finally hit the screens. It got released on June 3 and has so far received mixed reviews from critics and fans. But it is highly notable that the film is doing a wonderful job at box office as the collections have been tremendous.
This Indian comedy film has been co-written and directed by Entertainment fame Sajid-Farhad. . The film is produced by Sajid Nadiadwala under Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment; and is distributed by Eros International. Let us give you more insights and review details.
Cast: Housefull 3 stars Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan, Riteish Deshmukh, Jacqueline Fernandez, Nargis Fakhri, and Lisa Haydon in the lead roles, along with Boman Irani, Jackie Shroff, Chunky Pandey, Nikitin Dheer, Sameer Kochar and Aarav Chowdhary. The three leading actors are seen playing cripple, mute and blind men respectively to win their future father-in-law’s affection. Boman is seen as the father of the three girls.
Plot: The story of Housefull 3 revolves around Batook Patel played by Boman Irani who doesn’t want his three daughters to get married. However, the girls find love in three strugglers in life who are then see playing some funny antics to marry the girls.
Production: Principle photography of the film had begun in October 2015 at London and Delhi. The film released on 3 June 2016.
Release: The film as said is going strong at the box office and has so far grossed approximately ₹15.25 crore (US$2.3 million) in India and ₹13.36 crore (US$2.0 million) from overseas on its opening day. It earned ₹16.30 crore (US$2.4 million) in India on its second day. The film earned approximately ₹100.03 crore (US$15 million) worldwide in its opening weekend. And the count is still going on as it’s a comedy genre and the entire month, we’ve no film coming on the comic lines. So it can be expected to run a longer time as families would love to watch the film together.
Music: The music is composed by Sohail Sen, Mika Singh, Sharib-Toshi and Tanishk Bagchi whereas lyrics are written by Sameer Sen, Farhad-Sajid, Sanjeev Chaturvedi, Mamta Sharma, Arafat Mehmood, Rani Malik, Manoj Yadav and Danish Sabri. The background score is given by Julius Packiam. Film’s music rights are with T-Series. The first song of Pyar Ki was released on 24 April 2016 while the whole album came out on 10 May 2016.
Review: The film has opened to mixed reviews. The collections are going strong but if go by the reviews then it turns to be an average entertainer with very lesser scope of creating actual laughter. In terms of acting, the boys have catered a good show while the girls have only been the eye candy. Boman Irani too has done a decent job but it isn’t anything like his previous roles in Housefull and Housefull 2. There are some moments which make you laugh. It’s the direction which fails miserably as the film seems like losing its grip in between. But if you are in need for some laughter and want to enjoy a movie outing with family, Housefull 3 can surely be the choice!
