Things were same on June 23, 2016 as the device got sold out in minutes after its availability on Amazon India and the good news, its waitlist got full within an hour of the sale.
So far, Lenovo has done six flash sales for ZUK Z1 in India. It's notable that Z1 was launched on May 10 with its first sale held on May 19. If you missed out the current flash sale, you can try your luck again as the next flash sale would happen on June 30 and registrations for the same are open.
At a price of Rs. 13,499 – ZUK Z1 is worthy device of all and is competing against the likes of Xiaomi Redmi Note 3, Meizu M3 Note, LeEco Le 2.
If you have not yet come across it, let us give you an insight into ZUK Z1.
The Design
ZUK has gone for a metal frame sandwiched between Corning Gorilla Glass screen at front and a non-removable plastic cover at back. The Z1 indeed has a refined build quality as it produces no creaking sounds and the metal frame matches its plastic back. Its design language offers a clean and polished look which is comfortable to hold and offers grip as well.
Features
As we said, Z1 uses the same old Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset but with some goodies to offer. It has the tested Qualcomm MSM8974PRO-AC clocked at 2.5GHz, which happens to be last version of chipset produced by Qualcomm. This one is even said to be the steadiest one in its 801 lineup. It has 3GB of RAM with 64GB of internal storage which is not expandable.
Talking of the cameras, the device projects 13MP Sony-made IMX214 unit featuring a 5P Largan lens setup and OIS, whereas the front-facing unit has 8MP unit with an f/2.2 lens.
As for connectivity, it provides options like Dual SIM 4G LTE (nano+nano), Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n/ac, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth v4.1 and USB 3.0 through a Type-C port for 5Gbps data transfer speeds. The smartphone runs Cyanogen OS 12 and Android 5.1.1 Lollipop with 4100mAh non-removable battery which can be charged using the quick-charger that comes along.
Display
The Lenovo ZUK Z1 has a Full HD (1920×1080 pixels) IPS LCD display. It produces clear colors which are not saturated like it generally happens with AMOLED displays nowadays. Its pixel density of 401PPI, makes the text look crisp and even the images appear sharp. The Cyanogen's LiveDisplay setting is highly commendable as it lets the users twist not fixed display color profile, but even color temperature, by hand.
Performance
The phone does perform well and manages to score well in the performance department. It is notable that the Snapdragon 801 had failed to perform in OnePlus X, but the same has managed to do a great job in ZUK Z1.
For the purpose of gaming, Lenovo ZUK Z1 gives absolutely no problem despite the fact that it is using the old Snapdragon 801. Though it does heat up when used for playing games but that doesn't cause anything in major and neither does it affect your device's performance. It is highly commendable of ZUK that it has managed to outlive the old Snapdragon 801.
Don't you think at a price of Rs. 13,499, Lenovo ZUK Z1 is indeed worth investing your money? Make sure you register for the next flash sale!
