Lenovo Vibe K5 Or Micromax Canvas Fire 5: Find Out Which Smartphone Is A Better Buy!
Budget smartphone market is on a bloom these days with the market being currently full of ultra-affordable devices.
We already have budget devices helmed by masters in the game namely Lenovo, Xiaomi, Swipe and a few others. And now it is Micromax which has joined the race with its newest reasonably priced smartphone, the Canvas Fire 5, in India.
It is highly notable that the Lenovo Vibe K5 happens to be among the most liked choices available under Rs. 7,000 and so far it was ruling the roost. But things have changed with all-new Canvas Fire 5 which is available at a price of Rs. 6,199. It is a successor of 2015 release Canvas Fire 4 but it comes with massive upgrades. Vibe K5 received a massive response during its first flash sale where it was available for Rs. 6,999-smartphone.
The next sale of the device is all set to take place on June 29 on Amazon India.
Now that both the devices share similar price, it would be interesting to see which one will fare better. As for now, let us evaluate them in detail to know what these devices have in common where do they differ precisely.
Display
Lenovo Vibe K5 comes with compact 5-inch display which has 1280x720 pixel resolution. It features a striking metal frame body that provides added protection and also gives a first-class feel. On the other hand, the Micromax Canvas Fire 5, sports 5.5 inch display but the resolution is same as that of Vibe K5. Owing to its larger screen size, Canvas Fire 5 pixels get scattered as compared to the Vibe K5. But the difference won't be enormous.
Camera
Lenovo leads the race here with Vibe K5 sporting a 13-MP main camera with LED flash, whereas the Canvas Fire 5 has 8MP camera with full HD video recording support and LED flash. For selfies, both the devices have comes decked with similar 5 MP camera that can take some decent selfies.
Processor, RAM and storage
Moving on, Lenovo Vibe K5 comes backed by an octa-core 1.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 415 chipset and 2GB RAM. Micromax Canvas Fire 5 on the other hand comes with 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek processor and is provided with 1GB RAM for processing. As for storage, both of the budget devices come with 16GB internal storage with microSD card support.
Battery
Lenovo Vibe K5 has a 2,750mAh battery, which as per report can last for a day. Micromax Canvas Fire 5 on the other hand is backed by a 2,500mAh battery, and as per company claims it can offer up to 8.5 hours of talk time. How their respective batteries would perform in real life can only be seen when the final review is out.
Software and Added Features
Lenovo Vibe K5 and Canvas Fire 5 have newest Android 6.0 Marshmallow software and both the devices support dual SIM cards. Vibe K5 supports 4G bands, while Canvas Fire 5 is limited to 3G, and this we believe can turn off the users. The Vibe K5 comes with Dolby Atmos integrated twin speakers for improved audio and TheatherMax that offers support for virtual reality content. And this makes it a more lovable device as compared to Canvas Fire 5.
Both the devices have unique features to offer and the price is also same, but somehow we feel that it’s the Lenovo Vibe K5 which has more advantage over Canvas Fire 5. The former comes with some added features that are completely missing in the latter. And Vibe K5 is already a winner, so let’s see how well Canvas Fire 5 will do!
