It was just a day before that we updated you about YU launching its newest budget smartphone Yunicorn in India thus adding one more choice of high-features and low-priced devices for consumers.
Now there are plenty of devices you can buy under Rs. 15,000 which have high specs and low price. The list boast of some big names like Xiaomi Redmi Note 3, Moto G4 Plus, Lenovo ZUK Z1, Meizu M3 Note, and LeEco Le 1s.
YU Yunicorn is priced at Rs. 14,999, and the company is also offering a restricted period discount by selling it for Rs. 12,999 for a month. On the other hand, it’s competing strongly with Lenovo ZUK Z1 which is priced at Rs. 13,499 and Moto G4 Plus 3GB RAM variant that is priced at Rs. 14,999.
So, as you can see, these are priced closely, and before making a choice, it’s important to understand the specs and features of each.
Display
All the three devices have the same 5.5-inch standard screen size with Full HD resolutions. YU Yunicorn has 2.5D curved glass display with slim bezels and a physical home button that has the fingerprint scanner in it. It does not catch fingerprints because of which it gets to enjoy a clean look. Lenovo ZUK Z1 has anti-fingerprint coating, display polariser coating and the GFF whole-bonding process. While Moto G4 Plus comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 shield protecting its display.
Camera
Moto G4 Plus sports a 16MP primary camera with OmniVision Pure Cel Plus sensor, dual LED flash, PDAF, professional mode and 5MP front- camera with wide-angle lens.
The Lenovo ZUK Z1 has a 13-megapixel Sony EXMOR RS sensor with 1.2µm, dual LED flash, OIS, 5-physical lens and f/2.2 aperture. It has an 8MP snapper for selfies with 1.4µm pixel, OV8865 sensor equipped with OMniBSI-1 technology. YU Yunicorn comes with a 13-megapixel main camera with f/2.2 aperture, PDAF, EIS, Truebright dual-core ISP engine, dual LED flash and 5MP front snapper with f/2.0 aperture for good quality low-light selfies.
Processor, RAM and storage
Lenovo ZUK Z1 is backed by a 2.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, and has 3GB RAM and 64GB storage. YU Yunicorn comes with a 1.8GHz MediaTek Helio P10 octa-core processor alongside 4GB RAM and 32GB expandable storage. As for Moto G4 Plus, it has Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 octa-core processor backed by 3GB RAM and 32GB expandable storage.
Battery and software
While being high performing devices, all of them have large batteries in store that allows for longer run time. Lenovo ZUK Z1 gets the biggest battery of 4,100mAh, which can offer up to 38 hours of 4G talk time. YU Yunicorn comes with a 4,000mAh battery and has the fast charging support. It can last for nearly 4 days when used average way. Moto G4 Plus has 3,000mAh battery with Turbo Charging technology.
Add-ons
As we talked about, all of them come with the latest fingerprint scanners on their individual home buttons. They support dual SIM and 4G LTE. The Lenovo ZUK Z1 has a USB Type-C port which is something you’ll find missing in the other two. YU Yunicorn has Around YU 2.0 integration that lets users admittance host of services devoid of having to install specific apps for things like cabs, recharge, food and shopping, etc.
Availability
Lenovo ZUK Z1 is currently available absolutely on Amazon.in in its weekly flash sales. The next sale will happen on June 2 and registrations for the same are open. Moto G4 Plus is also available on Amazon.in, but you don’t need registrations or flash sales for it. As for YU Yunicorn, it is going to be available exclusively on Flipkart from June 7.
