Wind 5: An Overview
Over the past few weeks, Reliance LYF came with many 4G LTE-backed smartphones and Wind 5 is the newest entrant in the list. Before this device, Reliance had launched Flame 6, Flame 3, Flame 4, Flame 2, Wind 4 and Water 5. As a budget device, the Wind 5 is competing strongly against other popular budget devices like the Meizu m2 and Coolpad Note 3 Lite.
Talking of the specifications and features the device will offer at this low price, reports state that it comes with 5-inch HD IPS display. It has 8MP main camera with LED flash and for selfies it has 5MP front camera. It is also a dual SIM smartphone that would support 4G LTE and VoLTE, which is common with all the LYF smartphones. Moving on, Wind 5 is backed by quad-core MediaTek 6735P processor which has 1GB RAM and expandable storage of 8GB.
Wind 5 sports a 2,000mAh removable battery, which as per company claims can provide up to 6.5 hours of 4G talk time. Both Wind 5 and Wind 6 share the same price but their configurations are different.
As compared to Wind 6, Wind 5 gives your better camera and display resolution but the battery is smaller and even the processor is a slow one. In the Wind series, Reliance LYF also has its Wind 4 variant available at Rs. 6,799, which is decked with more superior features than Wind 5 and 6.
There were reports doing the round that Reliance had started selling the LYF smartphones with SIM cards with admission to 4G LTE in the major cities of India. Jio SIM cards allegedly offer limitless data for three months and 4,500 minutes voice calls for free, but there is nothing official about the same.
It would be interesting to see how well the Wind 5 would fare considering the budget price it offers!
