The wait is finally over as Sony has now formally instigated pre-ordering of its Xperia X series in Europe. During the announcement, Sony even revealed the details on the entire series' (Xperia X, Xperia XA and Xperia X Performance smartphones) pricing along with availability.
It is notable that Xperia X and XA were earlier listed on Amazon Germany's website along with pricing. However, no one had idea about Xperia X Performance.
As per the latest updates, Xperia X Performance can now be pr-ordered from France, Sweden, Italy Spain as well as the Netherlands at a price of EUR 699 (approximately Rs. 53,500). In the Indian market, this premium model is to be available from July 4, 2016.
Meanwhile, Xperia X will cost EUR 599 (nearly Rs. 45,800) and Xperia XA has been prices EUR 299 (around Rs. 23,000). You can avail the Xperia X sometime in this month while Xperia XA is going to be available from June end in Germany, Italy, France, Spain, Netherlands, Sweden and the UK with difference in price country wise.
The X series was launched this year during Mobile World Congress 2016. Xperia X, Xperia XA and Xperia X Performance smartphones have the same design, remarkable cameras with a 5-inch curved glass display. Let us get to know the X series in detail & explore if it's worth the wait:
Xperia X Performance
Touted as the finest device of the batch, Xperia X Performance has a Full HD Triluminos display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset, primary camera of 23MP supported by pulse LED flash with a 13MP front camera.
It has 3GB RAM, 32GB storage and a battery of 2,700mAh. Similar to other Sony devices, X Performance runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
Xperia X
Available in white, lime gold, graphite black and rose gold variants, it is vaguely subdued version of X Performance. It has a scratch-resistant glass with oleophobic coating and has Qualcomm MSM8956 Snapdragon 650 processor.
It runs Android OS, v6.0.1 (Marshmallow) with a CPU supported by Dual-core 1.8 GHz Cortex-A72 & quad-core 1.4 GHz Cortex-A53r. The device has 32/64 GB storage with 3 GB RAM, microSD up to 200 GB dedicated slot and a 2,650mAh.
Talking of the camera, it's the same as that of Xperia X Performance and the display is also similar to the latter.
Xperia XA
Designed to complement your life, Xperia XA comes with a new look and feel. It has a striking full-width display with a smooth curled form and a size which just fits perfect. Like the other two X series, XA also has the same display and camera quality.
Xperia XA is available in four colors. You can pick your choice from graphite black, lime gold, rose gold or white. The color way will not just cover the back of the device but even its front panels and the color of the screen. The device also has Scratch-resistant glass.
Running on Android OS, v6.0.1 (Marshmallow), it has a MediaTel octa-core processor, with 2GB RAM, 16GB storage and battery of 2,300mAh. The device has 13MP primary camera and 8MP front snapper.
So far, the X series does seem to be a great buy. The details currently available are all based on the features as stated by Sony. How well the smartphone series will perform would be judged once it's out in the market.
X series is certainly pleasing to the eye and reflects class – right from the design to internal specifications, the smartphone sound appealing. But before making a final verdict, let's wait them to hit the market. Stay tuned to get hands on details about X series performance!
