When Xiaomi had come with Redmi Note series, it had created a stir in the market. The device was well accepted and received by all.
Be it the price or specifications, everything was perfect about Xiaomi Redmi Note series. And now in order to take on the market once again, the company has launched the Redmi Note 3, which not just pays attention on performance and battery life, but also focuses on the design language, photography and safety.
The device has been in market for nearly 3 weeks, but it’s appearing quite promising. Let us check out how well it will fare:
Design & Build Quality
The Redmi Note 3 is indeed one of the best looking budget devices currently available in the Indian market. It has a metal-based unibody design and is quite curvier in contrast to its precursors. At the back, it has a smooth metal cover which comes with a blasted matte finish which gives it a firm grip.
It fingerprint sensor is on the back. It is placed underneath camera module with dual LED flash for ease of access. On right side, it has volume rockers and power buttons. On top, it has a mic, a 3.5mm audio jack and an IR sensor, the micro USB is at left side.
Display
The display is amazing as it allows you to use the device both under day light as well as dark light conditions. For those uninformed, using Sunlight Display technology, the Redmi Note 3 spontaneously adjusts vividness when there is a change in the environment.
Performance
The all new Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 with ARM Cortex A72 dual-core and ARM Cortex A53 quad-core series hexa-core SoC backed by Adreno 510 graphics engine, which helps make this device indeed one of the most powerful ones. Its 2GB RAM model has an imposing 1499 and 3490 points in single-core and multi-core tests.
The phone acts very quick when you shuffle between apps and work on multiple applications. Even when playing powerful games, the device excels. It does get heated up after long gaming hours but then it’s apparently quite natural for phones.
Interface
Redmi Note 3 runs Android 5.1.1 Lollipop based MIUI v7.0 series interface. It might be a generation old but it still has Marshmallow features such as Doze because the device has self power saving features and resource optimizing software that conserves RAM usage and dole out power based on precedence of apps.
Camera
Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 has 16MP camera with PDAF function, HDR, dual-tone LED flash, face/smile detection and dual-ISP. The camera indeed performs great under bright light. However, it does disappoint a bit when it comes to picture quality under dark light. For selfies, it has 5MP front camera which does a decent job.
Battery
The battery has so far stood to be the one highlight of Redmi Note 3, it has a 4050mAh battery. Under mixed use, the fully charged battery would last for more than a day. And if you leave it idle, it can survive for an entire week. The device also has 5V 2A "Quick Charge" technology which helps it get charged up to 50 percent in just 30 minutes.
Add Ons
Apart from battery, the other feature of Redmi Note 3 that has managed to impress all is the fingerprint sensor. It scans the fingerprint within seconds and unlocks the screen.
Verdict
The device performs well in almost all departments and scores quite good. Be it gaming, watching videos, clicking pictures or gaming – Redmi Note 3 offers a satisfying experience and is worth the money invested.
