New Delhi, Sat, 28 May 2016 NI Wire

The craze for mid range smartphones has indeed allowed many smartphone makers to bring over new flagships. The latest joining the bandwagon being Motorola's much hyped - Moto G4 Plus.

The device is out in the market and it has surely won hearts around courtesy its striking features. Though most of its features are simply amazing but people are going gaga over its camera. Its camera quality is such that it even beats the likes of iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus and Samsung Galaxy Note 4.

As stated earlier too, Moto G4 Plus has two variants: one with 16GB internal memory and 2GB RAM that’s available for Rs. 13,499, and one with 32GB internal memory and 3GB RAM which is priced at Rs. 14,999.

Other Features

Right from the design to software, every feature of the Moto G4 Pus is likeable and the price range only contributes towards making it more affordable. It’s a stylish slim handset with a decent built.

As for display, the device has 5.5-inch Full HD screen with 1,080x1,920 pixels of resolution. The display is quite good and offers accurate color saturation which makes video watching a wonderful experience. The viewing angles are also pretty good. Its display is secluded with Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

Talking about processor and software, the Moto G4 Plus is backed by octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 chipset paired with 3GB RAM. It runs the latest Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow and has expandable internal storage up to 128GB through microSD card. The device easily connects to 4G and offers better connectivity. It even connects to VoLTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS. The battery of G4 Plus comes with the TurboCharger that allows for quick charging.

Camera: The Major Highlight

Along with some extremely desirable features, the device is winning accolades for excellent camera quality. Moto G4 Plus comes with a primary camera of 16MP with OmniVision Pure Cel Plus sensor, PDAF (Phase Detection Auto Focus) and dual-LED flash. For selfies it has a 5MP front-camera supported by wide-angle lens. A renowned website – the DxOMark has praised it for featuring such good quality camera. While rating the device, DxOMark gave it a score of 84 for coverage and contrast, 85 for color, 91 for autofocus, 85 for consistency, 86 for sound, 85 for relic and 77 for flash which makes its complete image score come to 85.

It is highly notable that the score as got by Moto G4 Plus is visibly higher than that of elite smartphone devices like iPhone 6s which scored 83, iPhone 6s Plus that landed with 84, Samsung Galaxy Note 4 which also shared the same figure of 84, and Moto X Style which got 83. All of these devices were reviewed and scrutinized by DxOMark.

In the review, the phone that outshone Moto G4 Plus in terms of image score were HTC 10, Galaxy S7 Edge, Sony Xperia Z5 and Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge which scored 88 followed by Samsung Galaxy Note 5 at 87 and Google Nexus 6P at 86.

However, the devices that excel G4 Plus are certainly priced higher than the phone. And the ones which had lesser score from G4 Plus come in the same price bracket as that of G4 Plus.

If it’s compared with those then G4 Plus makes for a more profitable buy. Also, considering the fact that other features of the device are also appealing, G4 Plus clearly wins the game. It’s indeed the best choice for all those who give utmost importance to camera when it comes to choosing smartphone devices.
