What comes to your mind when we talk of smartphone? Well, we're sure that most of you would list a striking display, amazing camera quality, huge battery life and fastest processor.
But does it define every smartphone user around? Certainly not. Not all people have similar needs from a smartphone and when needs are different, the device also needs to be different. If you're fond of a smartphone that's simpler to user and fits your bill perfectly – Samsung Galaxy A3 (2016) may be your answer.
However, we still have to see if this actually lives up to the expectation. So, let's check the phone in detail:
Design
Boasting of a glass body, it's held by strong metal frame. The device has rounded corners along with chamfered edges which ensure that you get the required grip while holding the device in hand. The volume, power and home buttons can be reached out easily and operate smoothly. Design wise, A3 (2016) surely impresses you and makes for a stylish device that one would like to boast.
Display
In terms of display, the device sports a 4.7-inch screen which is backed by the Super AMOLED technology. It offers powerful and saturated colors. It has a 720 by 1280 pixels resolution which makes for sharp graphics and texts – something that you'll surely appreciate about this lesser complicated device.
Interface and functionality
It's quite sad to see Samsung Galaxy A3 (2016) still running Android 5.1 Lollipop when most of the latest smartphones are glued to recent 6.0 Marshmallow version. And so far the company hasn't set out any word on the up gradation.
Apart from the Lollipop version, the device also uses the company's own UI. This gives some added features like access to camera just by double-pressing home button. It also has Ultra Power Saving Mode, and the KNOX support for those who require corporate-grade security.
Performance
Powered by 1.5GHz quad-core Exynos SoC, the A3 (2016) offers you amazing gaming experience. The device though runs decent but at times you will experience some hiccups while launching a few apps, and this is all because of the 1.5GB RAM which we feel is not sufficient enough.
In total the device has 16GB internal storage but you get to use only 11GB. But don't worry; the memory can be expanded by microSD cards.
Camera
Galaxy A3 (2016) comes with 13MP F1.9 camera. It can capture amazing pictures with great clarity only when the light is bright. Under low light, the camera would struggle for focus. For selfie, it has 5MP F1.9 front camera which again takes good selfies in bright light but in low light the images turn out to be blurry.
The 2300mAH battery of A3 (2016) would offer a day's usage if used moderately. But frequent use will make the battery to drain out soon.
Conclusion
Taking into count the various specifications as offered by Samsung Galaxy A3 (2016), we can indeed say that this smartphone is ideal for those who aren't really concerned about a smartphone's hardware and functionality so much. If it's just about good looks and an impressive built, A3 is a smart choice to make because it's simpler to use and totally uncomplicated.
It's good only for those who want a stylish and compact handset. But if you want good quality of camera, gaming experience that's incredible or uninterrupted user interface, note it that Galaxy A3 (2016) is nowhere close to it. For the budget price it offers, buy the device only if you don't care about other aspects which people normally talk of smartphones offering premium features.
