Lenovo released ZUK Z1 on May 10, 2016, just a day following the release of Samsung's Galaxy J5 (2016) in India. Though the smartphones are in a comparable price range, but we've some alternatives available at a cheaper budget.
So, we've got to you the in-depth details of Lenovo ZUK Z1, Samsung Galaxy J5 2016 and Xiaomi Redmi Note 3, which being in the same price range are proving to be tough rivals. The ZUK Z1 is priced Rs. 13,499, Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 (32GB) is for Rs. 11,999, and the Galaxy J5 costs Rs. 13,990.

Display
Lenovo ZUK Z1 and Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 have similar displays that measure 5.5 inches with full HD resolution and 401ppi. Redmi Note 3 offers 178-degree screening angle with Sunlight display and night mode. Lenovo ZUK Z1 comes with anti-fingerprint coating, GFF whole-bonding process and display polariser coating. Samsung Galaxy J5 (2016) on the other has a 5.2-inch Super AMOLED display, but its screen resolution is just 1280 x 720 pixels.
Camera
Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 has a 16-MP front-facing camera with PDAF, dual ISP, dual-tone LED flash and HDR supported by 5MP front-camera with 36 smart beauty profiles.
Lenovo ZUK Z1 has 13-megapixel Sony EXMOR RS sensor supported by 1.2µm, dual LED flash, OIS, 5-physical lens and f/2.2 aperture. It has 8MP front snapper backed by 1.4µm pixel, OV8865 sensor prepared with OMniBSI-1 technology.
The Samsung device has an imposing mixture of camera sensors. It sports 13MP primary camera and 5MP front camera with f/1.9 aperture. If we compare the camera quality then all the three smartphones are great.
Processor, RAM and Storage
Well, here we've got a clear winner. Lenovo ZUK Z1 is powered by a 2.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, supported by 3GB RAM and 64GB storage. Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 has Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 CPU, backed by 3GB RAM and 16GB of storage. Samsung Galaxy J5 has 1.2GHz quad-core CPU with 2GB RAM and 16GB of expandable memory. So it's easy to predict that ZUK Z1 is a clear short winner.
Battery and Software
Coming to another of the vital features displayed by smartphones, in the battery section, Lenovo ZUK Z1 again stands as the winner as it has the biggest battery of 4,100mAh, which as per company claims up to 38 hours of 4G talk time. Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 though has identical battery unit of 4,050mAh, which the company says will last up to 14 hours on GPS navigation. And last but not the least, Galaxy J5 has 3,100mAh battery with almost 369 hours' standby.
All of these phones are run Android platform, however, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 has its own MIUI 7 on top of it and Lenovo ZUK Z1 has Cyanogen OS 12.1.

If we talk about the additional features, Lenovo ZUK Z1 and Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 also sport fingerprint scanners which nowadays has become a trend of sort among the smartphones. But the same is missing in Samsung Galaxy J5 2016. All of the three smartphones back 4G LTE and dual SIM card. But if we talk about ZUK Z1 has most up-to-date industry-standard USB Type-C connector, which certainly is a great feature when compared to the other two phones.
