US-based InFocus has so far introduced abundance of smartphones in different categories ever since its conception in March 2015. And it recently added another product in its range with Bingo 50.
Available at a price of Rs 7,499, the smartphone has some high-end features to boast. But whether the price is justified for the features it has to offer is something to watch for. Let us get into the details and understand the phone a little better.
Design
With a 5 inch display, the device comes with a glass screen to protect the screen. It has a clean look on the front: it includes earpiece, selfie camera, the proximity sensor at top and InFocus logo at bottom. At the back side, there's a secondary mic plus LED flash near camera module, you'll again find InFocus logo here. At the base end you'll come across 3 perforations for speaker grille.
As for the sides, there's a 3.5mm headphone jack, microUSB port at the base with the main mic. Towards left, there are volume buttons and at the right side we've power/unlock button. It has a Sandstone finish back which lets you feel the grip, but the curve of its back panel gives the smartphone in general good feel.
Features
On paper, the phone does have some amazing specifications to boast. But the reality is a bit different as InFocus seems to have tried to fit everything within the phone. It has a 5-inch 720p cell display at the front with 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6735 chipset. As for storage, the smartphone has 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage which is expandable up to 64GB through microSD card slot.
It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow which so far has proved to be the major highlight it. Talking of connectivity, the smartphone connects with 4G LTE bands backed by dual SIM set up, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 4.1 .
Display
If you talk of the display, it's indeed good. The display is on-cell TFT LCD module with a 1280×720 pixel array.
Software
The device runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow which is quite commendable. Though it won't run powerhouse games or customized apps but it is quite capable of running local and third-party apps. You can easily enjoy animations and transitions which increase the user experience. The call quality is also good and the speaker offers decent quality.
Battery Life
Powered by a non-removable 2500mAh battery, it's basically the phone's software that let the device work for all day.
Verdict
Overall, InFocus Bingo 50 is indeed a good smartphone with decent placing calls, battery and display. Though the price range is a bit high for the features it offers.
There are a lot many options you'll get in the market which cost lesser than this phone and offer higher quality as well. The closest competitor for Bingo 50 is Huawei Honor Holly 2 Plus that has all-plastic design but offers a better build and has a good battery life with 4000mAh battery. Next is Coolpad Note 3 that costs Rs 8,999 and comes with fingerprint reader and performs far better. Then we have Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 and Moto G3 (8GB), both of which cost Rs 9,999.
When there are so many options who are delivering improved features, it is actually tough to propose InFocus Bingo 50. We just can't go for Bingo 50 claiming it Android 6.0 Marshmallow as Moto G already runs on the same and is a great performer too.
To compete with the rival brands, Bingo 50 must lower the price so that it can widen its reach and the lesser price would definitely cover up for the bugs it has!
